We are founding an internationally recognised regulatory body that is entirely independent of political and commercial influences, and of the Centre itself. It will be under the control of internationally recognised and trusted individuals, who command global and local recognition and respect. This is critical to achieve a principle-driven culture of self-regulation amongst our participants.
We believe that the best regulation is positive regulation, encouraging the business advantages of compliance by balancing ethical and practical credibility. At the same time, a scrupulous but unobtrusive and reactive monitoring system, driven by sensitive pattern recognition algorithms, provides incontrovertible accountability. On this basis swift and robust arbitration and enforcement can be enacted as required.
We view it as a pre-requisite for successful practice that the framework we enact is welcomed by participating institutions, and blessed to the point of imitation by other regulatory organisations around the world.
