

Phil Perry has over 20 years of international senior banking experience in the US, Europe and Latin America, with globally recognised Fortune 500 Corporations and Financial Institutions. Mr Perry specialises in Treasury & Capital Markets, Investment Banking and Traditional & Structured Financing. Educated in the UK and France, Mr Perry holds a BA degree with honours in Economics and Languages from Ealing College in London, and a Business Diploma from INSEAD University in Fontainebleau, France. Fluent in Spanish, Mr Perry also has a good command of French and Russian.
Before joining the Independent Financial Centre of the Americas, Mr Perry spent over ten years with Banco Santander in the US and Europe. From 1995 - 1999 he was Global Director of Counterparty Credit Risk, based in the bank's Head Office in Madrid, managing and approving world-wide global credit exposures for the Santander Group. He was then appointed Senior Vice President and Group Head of Financial Institutions in 1999, based in New York, where his role was to develop and manage North American and Latin American institutions for the group. In 2003 he became Managing Director of Global Corporate Banking, also based in New York, where he developed and managed world-wide revenue and business plans throughout Europe and Latin America for a focussed, multi-billion dollar portfolio of major US corporate accounts.
Prior to Banco Santander, Mr Perry spent over twenty years with HSBC Group both in London and Spain in various roles. Most notably between 1989 - 1995 Mr Perry was Group Credit Controller of Treasury & Investment Banking for the Group's flagship dealing operation in London, where he established and built a team of 25 analysts to manage group credit exposures to support a rapid growth in Treasury and Capital Markets. Between 1983 - 1989 Mr Perry was Chief Operating Officer in Madrid and was responsible for managing 120 staff in middle and back office operations, supporting credit risk analysis, systems, operations and financial and treasury control and in addition carried out credit audits in the bank's Latin American operating units. Prior to this, Mr Perry held several management positions in retail and wholesale banking within the group.
Mr Perry was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Independent Financial Centre of the Americas in December 2006 to head the financial leadership of the organisation, including implementation of financial strategies, banking, cash and risk management and oversight of all accounting practices.
